Baseball America
I like maps because I’m a nerd. I like baseball because it has lots and lots of stats and you can use your math skills. Pretty much the same reason I like maps I guess. So I really, really like this graphic for Nike Baseball. It’s almost suitable for framing. Couple things though.
1. Hate to pick on the the name here but how about the United States of Baseball? I think the United Countries of Baseball are the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Japan.
2. Hey Utah, Nevada and Montana - Play Ball!
3. Why so many Marlins fans in Douglas, GA? And Reds fans in Chattanooga, TN?
4. New Orleans really should have its own baseball team. Let’s give em the Padres. Four teams oughta be enough for California.
5. Is Greensboro, North Carolina really Pirates Country? (Hey, must be that’s why they called ‘em the Countries of Baseball. Strike comment #1)
6. Awfully generous with Mets territory weren’t they?
